It’s a Pin from Me!

Figured I should make a pinned post so here are some things about moi and my blog:

- This is my main blog and it’s sort of multi-fandom.  but currently focusing on my Fire Emblem Three Houses OC content.

- Asking about my OCs and fics will make my day very bright!

- You’re allowed to comment and reblog my works, wips included. Just no reposting :3

- I write fanfics and post my own fanart when my brain wants to co-operate.

-  If you enjoy my OCs, you can definitely create content with them so long as you tag me! Also if it’s a story, you can run things by me if you’re uncertain if it’s something they’d do :)

- This is an OC heavy blog. OCs that I have are mentioned below. Character in bold are who I’m focusing on right now.

Mass Effect: Phoenix, James, Kassandra, Minerva and Rowan Shepard, Amaya T’Evana.

Kingdom Hearts: Cataegis “Aegis”, Aer

Fire Emblem Three Houses: Easwith Strælboranthryth Holdfréond, Alexander Æscthryth  Holdfréond

All my fan-written works will go to the same AO3 account!

My sideblogs are connected to this one so replies and follows will be from here.

Asks and anons are always on so if you want to send an ask but are too shy/nervous to reveal your URL, or if you’re planning something and want me to have zero idea who’s asking/planning something, you can always go there :)

You don't have to have had interacted much with me to get a vibe either, I am simply curious (if you want to reblog to make it a bit of a game with your moots feel free I an just mute notifs on the post if it get too big :'D)

Why most writers fail

Trying to throw some gritty inspiration at you guys today! Have an inward look and think about what writing really means to you, and whether you enjoy writing or having written, because the difference might seem subtle, but I believe is a very important distinction to make.

Here’s why 97% of writers never finish their books.

Almost every other person has once had an inkling to write a book, and so many have started writing, only to give up a few pages in. Why?

This can happen for a lot of reasons, and if you haven’t finished your book yet, you might find yourself in one of these reasons:

📌 You’ve never finished a short-form story before.

📌 You’re not familiar with story structures or you go straight in without planning.

📌 You expect it to be perfect on first go.

📌 You have a serious fear of failure.

📌 You’re not dedicated enough or you lose your passion and interest.

📌 You’re bad at taking feedback.

📌 You keep restarting.

And these reasons are all valid - But the real truth of it all?

Writing a book is mighty difficult.

It’s a long-process, and one that’s not instantly-gratifying. Humans love instant gratification - and when they find writing won’t give them that, they give up.

The fact of the matter is: writing is not a hobby driven by gratification, but rather by perseverance, hard work, and a lot of thinking and rethinking.

It’s likely that even with a finished book, you’ll still feel you could have done better.

But that’s also the beauty of it. Writing is not made to be a seeking of gratification, but rather an attempt to understand more about ourselves and our world.

I love it when people take fic writing seriously. I love when it's not 'Here's this dumb thing I wrote' and instead it's 'Here's this thing I put blood, sweat and tears into. Here's this thing I slaved away at, trying new writing techniques and editing over and over. Here's this dialogue that kept me awake at night. Here's this beautiful turn of phrase I thought up. Here's this thing that I wrote with vulnerability and heart, and I am proud to share it with you.'

"We are the same, you and I. Built to be a weapon, and a weapon alone. You were not made for love, Cyrus. That will be your demise."

Thought too hard about Cyrus's ties to Edelgard that were made while he was being experimented on...

okay okay so like i don’t wanna kill the party but i just saw an instagram shop selling a shirt that says now i am become death the destroyer of worlds in barbie font and i just sigh i just like i get the novelty of barbie and oppenheimer weekend but i have got to stress the bomb changed the entire world forever and wiped out over a quarter of a million people i think maybe we gotta kinda take a step back here when we start selling it as if it’s fun hot girl summer fodder

before you start babygirling oppenheimer just know that from what i’ve heard the film does not address downwinders, does not have a singular japanese person in it, and exploited our museums by claiming photos on loan for personal use (meaning they did not have to pay a penny to use them in the film despite being a multi-million dollar production).

I’m going to say it, even though it probably has been said. The bomb was tested in New Mexico. Nary a New Mexican has been consulted or the years long environmental consequences that weren’t that much lesser than Japan acknowledged, and people that suffered from the deathly rippling of the bombings are still alive.

Some of the facts detailed in the article make the cinematic omission unforgivable.

Tell me a thing about your childhood that isn't inherently super traumatic but is sus and kinda indicitive of the environment you grew up in.

I'll start, my childhood favorite movie series from when I was under five was the Final Destination series.

You know when someone goes through your blog on a mass like-spree for a fandom? I love those like, 19 notifications in a row. it’s like “Ah, I see you’re well into a fixation. God bless.”

I like when your dash fills up with something incredibly specific from one poster and it’s like “oh you’re trawling a specific tag tonight”

I never like it when strangers act like they're my editor, but one of the most annoying "corrections" I've ever received was when I was talking about cis people being uncomfortable around trans people and someone said "op you mean transphobes. don't slander all cis people like that". When the thing is I did mean cis people. Because cis people are often uncomfortable around trans people. AND ALSO discomfort is not a flavor of moral transgression. That way lies thought policing.

Like it feels kind of hypocritical to demand that all cis people be comfortable with my transness when I myself am frequently uncomfortable with my own transness (see: Gender Dysphoria). It's not the discomfort that matters, it's what you do with that discomfort. And often what distinguishes a safe cis person from an unsafe one is whether or not they see their own feelings of comfort as an absolute moral compass. The safe cis person observes their own discomfort and recognizes it as a conditioned response in a society that wants you to hate trans people. The unsafe cis person cannot square their feelings of discomfort with their self-image as a "trans ally" so they take the feelings as vibes-based evidence that this particular trans person they're talking to must be secretly evil.

Tbqh this is often what separates a safe trans person from an unsafe one too

I need to settle an argument for a friend. Which is worse?
